Summary
Kavul is a Canaanite city in the tribal lands of Asher, as well as the name of the geographic region surrounding it.
Currently identified with Hirbet Rosh Zayit, next to the Arab village of Kabul (Tzvi Gal).
- King Shlomo gave cities in the area of Kavul to Hiram of Tzor (Tyre) in exchange for cedar wood and cypress wood, and gold for the building of the Beit HaMikdash and the Palace of the King (I Kings 9, 11-13).
