• Botzrah is the city of King Yovav of Edom (Genesis 36, 33; I Chroicles 1, 1, 44).
• Mikha speaks of Botzrah as a place of fertile pastures (Micah 2, 12).
• Yeshayahu, Yirmiahu, and Amos prophesy about the destruction of Botzrah (Isaiah 34, 6; Isaiah 63, 1; Jeremiah 49, 13, 22; Amos 1, 12).
