Summary

Yogbeha is a city in the northeastern portion of the tribal lands of Gad.

Currently identified with el-Jubeihat, north- west of Rabbat Amon, on the road to A- Salat (Aharoni).

  • Yogbeha appears on the list of cities that the people of Gad built up after the conquest of the kingdom of the Amorite King Sihon (Numbers 32, 35).
  • During the time of the Shoftim, the remaining Midianites encamped in Karkor and Gideon travelled near Yogbeha in order to attack, causing them to flee (Judges 8, 11- 12).
