Summary
Lo-devar is a city in the Gilead region on the western border of the tribal territory of Gad.
- Lo-devar was the birthplace of Makhir ben Amiel, whose home served as a haven for Yehonatan's son Mefiboshet and who later brought food for King David during Avshalom's rebellion(II Samuel 9, 4-5; II Samuel 17, 27).
- Amos made a disparaging pun about Lo-devar while mocking the temporary success of King Yerovam ben Yoash of Israel (Amos 6, 13).
