Summary

Salkha is a city on the southern part of the kingdom of King Og of Bashan.

Currently identified with an archeological tel in the town of Tzalhad, among the fortifications in Jabal al-Druze in Syria (Y. Aharoni).

  • Salkha was a major city of King Og of Bashan, which was conquered by Moshe and given to the half-tribe of Menashe, sharinga border with the tribe of Gad (Deuteronomy 3, 10-13; Joshua 12, 5; Joshua 13, 11; I Chronicles 5, 11).
