A Levite city in the territory of the tribe of Ephraim, in the northern Judean foothills (Shphelat Yehuda).

Identified as Tel Gezer (S. K. Gano).

• The Canaanite king of Gezer was defeated by Yehoshua (Josh. 10:33; 12:12).
• David battled and defeated the Philistines in Gezer ( II Sam. 5:25; I Chr. 14:16; I Chr. 20:4).
• Shlomo rebuilt Gezer after Pharaoh conquered the city from the Canaanites (I Kgs. 9:15-17).
