Kadesh Barnea, also called Kadesh, Ein Mishpat (Spring of Judgement), and Mei Meriva, is a desert oasis and settlement in the northeastern Sinai.

Currently identified with Tel Qudeirat (L. Woolley and T.E. Lawrence; Y. Aharoni).

• The Four Kings battled in Kadesh (Genesis 14, 7).
• Moshe sent the spies to scout the Land of Canaan from Kadesh Barnea and there they returned with their report (Numbers 13, 26).
• Miriam died and was buried at Kadesh (Numbers 20, 1).
• While in Kadesh, Bnei Yisrael complained that they lacked water, and Moshe brought forth water from the rock for them (Numbers 20, 2-13).
• Kadesh Barnea is mentioned as being part of the southern border of the Land of Israel (Numbers 34, 4; Joshua 10, 41).
