A city in the Plains of Yehuda, Adullam is currently identified with Hirbet Adullam, also known as Hirbet Shekh Madkur (C. Clermont Ganneau). 

• Adullam is the hometown of Hira, Yehuda's friend (Genesis 38, 1-20).
• Yehoshua vanquished the city of Adullam (Joshua 12, 15).
• David hid in a cave in the vicinity of Adullum and made it a center of his activities (I Samuel 22, II Samuel 23, 13).
• Rehavam fortified Adullam (II Chronicles 11, 7).
• During the period of the Return to Zion, Adullam was re-settled (Nehemiah 11, 30).
