Midian (in Moav) is an area of land within Moav wherein the Midianites lived.

• Hadad son of Bedad fought against and bested Midian (Genesis 36, 35; I Chronicles 1, 46).
• The elders of Midian went with the elders of Moav to summon Bilam (Numbers 22, 4-7).
• The daughters of Midian enticed Bnei Yisrael to sin at Shittim, and subsequently Bnei Yisrael fought the Midianites (Numbers 25, 6-8; 31, 2-9; Joshua 13, 21).
